A Hair Treatment to try on a weekly basis

This is a weekly DIY (Do It Yourself) Treatment scheduled for the week. It may seem like a lot of work but it will surely make a difference in your hair if you are regular with it inshaa’Allah. You may switch and skip certain days to fit your schedule and needs.

Day 1: Apple Cider Vinegar Treatment, Hair Wash, and Rosemary Conditioner
This will prevent hair loss, dandruff, and remove build up of products you may have used on your hair to give it shine, volume, and color.

ACV Treatment

For dark haired individuals- You will need:

1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup of warm water
10 drops of rosemary essential oil
Make a mixture of the above ingredients and store in a bottle or a glass bottle (if you are making a lot of it)

For Light Haired Individuals – You will need:

1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
1 cup of brewed chamomile tea
10 drops of lavender essential oil
Make a mixture of the above ingredients and store in a bottle or a glass bottle (if you are making a lot of it)

Hair Wash
Use a gentle shampoo to wash your hair after the ACV Treatment above. Let your hair air dry or gently use a towel or cloth.

Rosemary Conditioner
(NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE)

This will add shine and softness to your hair, while improving your blood circulation to promote the growth of your hair. It will also help prevent hair loss.

Items:

Rosemary essential oil or rosemary leaves (steeped into a tea)
Clean spray bottle
Steeper

Method:

If you are using the rosemary essential oil:

1. Set some water to boil in a pot.
2. After the water has boiled, pour it into a cup and add ten to fifteen drops of the rosemary essential oil into the cup, then stir.
3. Let it cool and then fill it up into your clean spray bottle.

If you are using the rosemary leaves:

1. Set some water to boil in a pot and add the water that has boiled into a cup.
2. Take your steeper and fill it with approximately one tablespoon full of rosemary leaves.
3. Add your steeper, which contains your rosemary leaves in it, into the cup.
4. Steam it for about ten minutes. The color will be a light green color.
5. Let it cool and then fill it up into your clean spray bottle.

Use this conditioner after you have washed your hair and come out of the shower. Spray it all over the roots of your hair generously and massage slightly.

Day 2: Rosemary Conditioner
Do not apply any oils or products into your hair. Just reinvigorate your hair with the Rosemary conditioner that you have hopefully stored in your spray bottle. As an alternative, you can opt for rosewater.

Day 3: Hot Oil Treatment and Hair Wash

Hot Oil Treatment
This treatment will provide nourishment to your scalp. The grape seed oil will help reduce tangles and will aid in giving you shinier and softer hair.

Items:

Empty bottle with pointed tip
Bowl
Grape Seed Oil (100% Pure)
Essential Oil (Lavender or Rosemary)

Method:

1. Add 5 teaspoons (for short hair) and 10 teaspoons (for long hair) of grape seed oil into your empty bottle.
2. Add 10 drops of your essential oil (either your lavender or rosemary oil) into the bottle.
3. Give the bottle a slight shake to mix the two oils.
4. Fill your empty bowl with hot water and place your bottle containing the mixture in it for 2 to 3 minutes so your mixture can heat up.
5. Remove your tangles and apply the mixture to your scalp.
6. Massage it well into your roots and all over your hair.
7. Wet your towel with hot water and wrap it around your hair.
8. Leave the treatment on for about a half hour.

Hair Wash
Use a gentle shampoo to wash your hair after the Hot Oil Treatment. Let your hair air dry or gently use a towel or cloth.

Day 4: Rosemary Conditioner
Do not apply any oils or products into your hair. Just reinvigorate your hair with the Rosemary conditioner that you have hopefully stored in your spray bottle. As an alternative, you can opt for rosewater.

Day 5: Almond oil or any other oil
Apply almond oil or any of the natural oils mentioned in the article to your hair. Make sure you massage it into your roots and all over your hair. If you can, leave the oil on for a day or two depending on your schedule. If you cannot, then you can wash it off.

Day 6: Wash the almond oil or any other oil still in the hair with water only
Assuming you were able to keep the almond oil in your hair, if you need to, wash with water (warm) only.

Day 7: Wash hair with water and Rosemary Conditioner, or wash hair with shampoo and restart weekly routine.
Wash your hair containing the almond oil with warm water and use the Rosemary Conditioner, or wash your hair with shampoo and restart your weekly routine.
Even though this seems like a lot to do, give some of these methods a chance and notice the difference in your hair. I wish you healthy, beautiful, and luminous hair in your hair care journey.

All the best!

Great article! I recently started putting hair oil in my hair at least once every week for 24 hours and I can really see a difference - my hair is softer and thicker :)
