All we do isn't for nothing

Bismillah

As for many women these days, day starts off with work whether its cooking, cleaning, laundry, taking care of kids and our list goes on. Frustration can definitely set in along with tiredness. Sometimes we get so overwhelmed that we just want to give up. As a muslimah we have to remind ourselves that everything we do is an act of worship and that Insha’Allah we will be rewarded for it. There is a beautiful hadith about it, which amazed me to the core.

Adh-Dhahabee related in Sayr A'laam An-Nubalaa from Asma bint Yazeed Ibn As-Sakan that she went to the Prophet (saw) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you. I have come to you on behalf of the women. Verily Allah has sent you to men and women. We have believed in you. We do not go out and we remain in your homes. We are your source of physical pleasure. We carry your children. A man goes out to pray Jum’ah and Jamah, and follows the Janazah. And if you go out for Hajj, or Umrah, or Jihad, we look after your wealth. We wash your clothing. We raise your children. Shall we not share in the reward?”

The Prophet (saw) turned to his Companions and said, “Have you ever heard anything a woman has said better than what she has said?” Then he said to her, “Understand O woman, and inform the other women. Indeed a woman's perfection of her relationship with her husband, her seeking his pleasure, and doing that which he approves of is equivalent to all of that.” Asma left exclaiming “Laa ilaaha illallaah.” [1]

SubhanAllah! Rejoice sisters as all are hard work is not for nothing. Life is short and temporary, let us work hard now so later we can be in Jannah where river flows beneath us, take a moment and imagine that. At the end of the day just remind yourself Jannah and Insha’Allah all your tiredness and stress will go away. Also try to take time out for yourself., even if its an hour. Read Quran, watch something beneficial or even bake a cake; whatever you enjoy doing, do it.

Always remember your blessings and thank Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala for everything.

Assalamualaikum

Though it is dha'if, it does not fall into the category of 'dhai'f jiddan' and it is permissible to be highlighted as a motivation to wives serving their husbands.
