Introduction | Al-Illah | Al-Akram | Al-Ahad | Al-Witr | Al-Wahid | Al-Musawwir
Bismillah
I hope you have your pens and diaries ready! If you don’t know what I am talking about please read the Introduction.
Have you ever wondered how life would be if your eyes where not on your face but on your feet or how if we had no thumbs? Sans any debate we all will agree life would have been pretty tough. We know for a fact that humans are created in the best form possible and Qur’an attests to that fact.
“We have indeed created man in the best of moulds.”
[Surah At-Tin 95:4]
Our immaculate and perfect form is a loud roaring witness to Allah’s name “Al Musawwir – The Fashioner or Shaper of Forms”. The function of this name is not limited to human beings, Allah has created all that is in existence and made everything perfect and shaped it benefitting his wisdom and majesty alone. To have a glimpse of it please watch this Video Clip.
The name Al Musawwir comes from the root word “rasaw” which means “to form”. Allah mentions himself as Al – Musawwir in the following verse of the Qur’an
“He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
[Surah Al Hashr 59: 24]
The best example to describe this name will be the creation and development that takes place in the womb and the creation of the heavens and the earth! We are created from semen and egg. Have you ever wondered how a fluid can change into bones? Or how a human can live inside a human? SubhanAllah! Watch this growth of the embryo video. In this post I have made a point to share videos because humans are visual entities.
We live in the time of “upgrades”. If you are not satisfied with something you can change it. One most popular thing with regards to this is “Cosmetic Surgery”. Nowadays nearly every time we look into the mirror we never leave it without finding a fault in ourselves.
“I wish I had a better nose”
“I wish my eyes were bigger and blue”
“I wish I wasn’t so fair! I like the tan look better”
“Thighs are my problem area”
And the list is endless! This becomes more tough with the changing fashion nearly every month and the whisperings of Shaytan. Imagine if you were as beautiful as Yusuf aleyhi salaam, would you be strong enough to face the temptations that he faced? Always remember this ayah and be happy that Allah is pleased with you the way you are.
He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases. There is no god but He,
the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
[Surah Al Imran 3 :6]
Be content with Allah’s decree in how He shaped and fashioned you. When you look at yourself in the mirror, say alhamdulillah! If you ever slip the slope of ungratefulness think of those who can't see or can't move or are mentally challenged. To understand the precious gift Allah has blessed you with watch this short inspirational Video Clip. Also watch how Allah created the heavens and the earth!
Living with the name of Allah Al Musawwir will require contentment and gratefulness. Ya Allah, make us grateful in the times of easy and in the times of hardship. Make us content and happy with what you have decreed for us in the shape of destiny and physical form. We beg and worship you alone, help us ponder over your perfect and beautiful creations – Ameen ya rabbi. Ask Allah Al Musawwir when he created everything so perfectly solving your problems is nothing for Allah most high! When He wills a thing, He merely says to it, Be! and it is.
